Spring Fashion Trends That Are Perfect for Outdoor Drinks
In just a few short weeks, pub gardens will be back in action and we’ll be able to catch up with up to five of our besties over outdoor drinks. And since this is the first time in months that we’ve had a proper excuse to dress up, you can bet we’ll be going all out with our alfresco-ready looks.
We can’t wait to embrace the start of spring and end of lockdown. But we all know the great British weather is likely to throw us a few curveballs. That’s why we’ve put together this list of killer spring fashion trends that have got you covered whatever the weather.
Smock Dresses and Leather Jackets
The classic smock dress is a spring staple for good reason. Their flattering shape and timeless style gives them universal appeal. Look out for floral patterns, tiered details and long sleeves that will stop you feeling the chill when you’re onto that second bottle of prosecco. Style with chunky boots, gold hoops and a leather jacket that’s sure to beat the cold even more.
Jumpers Under Slip Dresses
Layering is a trend that has dominated women’s fashion season after season. But it’s a look that’s set to really come into its own in the next couple of months as we try to balance both fashion and comfort.
One of the freshest ways to style layers is to wear a ribbed long-sleeve tee or turtle neck jumper under a cute spaghetti strap dress. It’s a 90's inspired trend that can be brought bang up to date with some layered necklaces and stacked earrings. Then throw on some trainers to give it an edge or slip on some sandles if it’s a bit warmer.
Oversized Cardigans or Check Shirts
The humble cardie is the ultimate beer garden companion. They won’t make you too hot even if we’re lucky enough to see some sunshine, but they’ll also keep your arms warm when the sun goes down later. To stay on trend, look out for pastel shades, oversized buttons and chunky knits.
If you’re more of a rock chick, then a check shirt works just as well over simple dresses. They’re also light and compact so you can easily stuff one into your bag if temperatures start to soar.
Jeans and a Nice Top
Can you ever really go wrong with a pair of high-quality jeans and a dressy top? We think not. The beauty of this classic combo is that you can go as fancy or as casual as you like and still chuck your favorite coat on over the top without it spoiling the effect.
If you’re going for casual, team a double denim co-ord with a stylish halter neck top. Then complete the look with silver stud earrings and a delicate necklace. Or if you’re after something a little more dramatic, swap the studs for drop earrings and pair your perfect jeans with a streamlined bodysuit or curved hem corset. Then all you need is that all important mask and a back-up brolly and you’re good to go!
