Your Guide to Back To Work Fashion

When Covid restrictions were lifted back in July, one thing that didn’t return to normal overnight was the way we worked. For many of us, working from home was still a reality. But a recent look at public transport figures suggests that more and more of us are slowly starting to go back to the office and that up to 60% of us could be back behind our desks before the end of the year. Which means we can say goodbye to answering emails from our bed and zoom calls in our PJs! Don't worry though, you’re not alone in wondering what on earth we used to wear to work before the days when lounge wear was king. That’s why we’re on hand to give you same handy fashion tips so you can rock back up to the office in style.

Embrace the Suit

The trouser suit has been a staple of women’s fashion for years. But if the idea of a women’s suit conjures up images of drab navy blues and thin pinstripes, think again. Because this season’s trouser suit is all about bold colours, patterns, strong lines and attitude.

We’re talking oversized, XXL vibes in greens, pinks, whites and even yellows if you’re feeling brave. The only real accessory you need here is plenty of swagger but a pair of sleek, large hoops also works for an uber on trend style. This is definitely a look for those of you who like to standout with their fashion choices but don’t forget you’ve got the added benefit of being able to wear each piece separately when you’re feeling a bit more low key.

The Knitted Dress

If you can’t quite bring yourself to say goodbye to your comfies just yet, why not bridge the gap with a knitted dress. Go for minimal colours like grey or camel and throw on a belt for a dressier edge. Then pull it all together with some thin layered necklaces and understated stud earrings

If your office allows them, this relaxed look works well with trainers but a pair of classic dolly shoes will do the trick as well.

Throw In Some (Faux) Leather

Faux Leather jackets, skirts and even trousers are making a big come back this autumn. And there are plenty of ways you can adopt the trend as part of your office style.

Forget the biker jackets and instead opt for a chic leather blazer or tailored jacket. Team with a pair of high waisted trousers and you’ve got a fierce look that shows them who’s boss. Alternatively, swap the jacket for a leather pencil skirt with a white jumper tucked in. Soften the look with a pair of feminine huggie hoops

Colourful Shirts

Ditch the boring white shirts and invest in some colourful alternatives that are sure to brighten up your day. Out are the overly formal fitted numbers you couldn’t wait to get out of when you got home and in are looser, cooler silhouettes.

Pair with wide-leg trousers, some killer boots and a pair of braided hoop earrings and you’re ready to do business.
