Cute earrings but don't like the flat back

Earrings are gorgeous but unfortunately the flat back fastening only goes on the very end of the post meaning there is quite a gap between your ear and the earring meaning they fall forward and pull on the piercing hole and just doesn't look very nice. Got round this using a regular back but it's not ideal as it's now slightly tight and I'm worried it won't stay on and I'll loose my earrings. All in all disappointing as I ordered a few styles with the flat back fastening.
