5 Ways to Celebrate Spring

Spring is finally just around the corner. The days are getting brighter, the nights are getting longer and nature is bursting into life once more. On the 20th of March, we officially say goodbye to winter and hello to the warmer part of the year - which is a call for celebration in our eyes! So here’s 5 fabulous ideas to help you mark the spring equinox in style.

Get Out in the Garden

The start of spring is the perfect time to help your garden awaken with new life. As the weather gets warmer, you can plant hardy annuals like cornflowers or wildflowers straight outside into beds. Or else start off dahlia and echinacea seeds in a greenhouse ready to plant out in a few week's time. If you don’t have the greenest of fingers, then you can of course buy yourself a lovely bunch of spring daffodils instead.

Have a Spring Clean

Cleaning might not be everyone's idea of celebrating. But a good spring clean will make you feel refreshed and ready for the next part of the year. Tackle each room of the house one at a time, throwing out things you haven’t used in months and finding new homes for your knick-knacks that are taking up space. Our beautiful trinket boxes are perfect for storing away smaller objects like keys and hair accessories. Whilst are popular jewellery boxes will keep your rings and stud earrings in perfect order.

Find Out What Fruit and Vegetables are in Season and Cook Something New

Make the most of the warmer weather by getting out and visiting a local produce market where you’ll be able to pick up the best fresh goods. Carrots, leeks, artichokes and spring onions are all in season in March and taste delicious in spring salads or soups. But nothing says the start of spring like an indulgent rhubarb crumble.

Go Wild with the Kids.

Have you and the kids been hibernating inside all winter? Well now’s the time to blow of the cobwebs and get outside. You could head off on a walk to your favourite nature spot or go on bike ride through the woods. Or even climb a hill on a windy day to fly your own homemade kite. Make the most of any rainy days too by burning off some energy with a nice spot of puddle jumping.

Plan Your Own Garden Party

Keep your eye on the weather forecast for a sunny day and invite your friends and family round for a mini garden party. You could whip up some fresh spring punches or cocktails and even make your own outdoor games like a bean bag toss board or giant Naughts and Crosses. And of course, a party is the perfect chance to show off a new spring look. Treat yourself to a pretty spring tea dress and celebrate the season with a pair of our cute chick hypoallergenic earrings.
